As a result of creating a more efficient process for
As quickly as possible, I worked to narrow down the avenues of communication so that information was not lost or delayed. The employer logistics team used the walkie-talkies so multiple people could hear the information at one time. My phone was reserved for use with my supervisor and the campus parking office.
As the employer logistics chair of the UW-Stout Career Conference, it was my responsibility to plan parking for 400 employers for the event. The morning of the event we had a huge snowstorm, and although the grounds crew worked all night to keep the lots plowed, one of our major lots was not safe to park in.
My role in this situation was to communicate with multiple people to oversee the new parking plan. Initially we were using multiple forms of communication (phone calls, texting, in-person, and walkie talkies), and that process needed to be streamlined to be more efficient.
communicating, we were able to redirect employers to the newly designated parking lots in an efficient and timely manner. We received compliments from many people on how well we performed under pressure, and what could have been a fairly large problem was easily solved through effective communication.

Using the Direct Modeling Technology enabled us to make changes to our design quickly and get instant feedback on our changes and how they would impact our goals. In the end we were able to create a less expensive version of the drone, while also maintaining the quality of the product.
In order to accomplish this, our first step was to create a 3D model in SolidWorks. We then used the geometric relationships that defined the model to make sure that the modifications would maintain the structural integrity of the product.
I really enjoy learning and implementing new technologies. A great example of this was in one of my courses. I worked in a group where we used Direct Modeling to improve the design of a drone.
Our goal was to modify the existing design to both simplify the manufacturing process and increase the stability of the drone.
