Students in The News Business Internships For Education Students Many students in the School of Education have a cooperative education experience or business internship that helps them gain experiences they can bring to the classroom as a teacher. Mikayla Obsuszt, a Marketing and Business Education student, learned all about marketing through her experience as a summer intern in a cycling store. Read about how this experience helped Mikayla as a future teacher: MBE student’s marketing internship. Nick Kostka, a May 2023 B.S. Special Education graduate, was able to finish his degree despite being called to active duty by the Army and overcoming injuries while a student at UW-Stout. Teacher Recruitment Efforts October Teach Day Event This event introduces high school students to teaching as a career, showcasing UW-Stout’s career-focused applied learning. Students explored teacher education programs and engaged in lesson planning with our teacher education students. The next Teach Day event will be on Monday, February 12, 2024. Watch for an email in January 2024 with registration details. High School Dual Credit Course We are developing plans to offer Educational Psychology in Fall 2024. If your school district is interested in learning more, please email Joel Helms at helmsj@uwstout.edu . Scholarships We offer a number of scholarships specifically for education students. Each year, students can fill out one scholarship application in the fall and a committee matches eligible students to scholarships that are awarded for the following academic year.
