Stout University Foundation Scholarships
Earl and Shirley Simmons Scholarship Earl and Shirley Simmons established a graphics corporation which they operated for many years. Earl passed away in 1991, and Shirley wished to acknowledge their passion for the graphic communications industry by establishing a scholarship endowment. This scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year student from the Midwest with financial need who is majoring in graphic communications . These scholarships are renewable if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. Sittko Family Annual Scholarship Lindsey graduated from UW-Stout with her bachelor’s in psychology and a Master of Science in applied psychology. UW-Stout gave her the solid foundation for a career in human resources. She still quotes Dr. Baughman “People don’t stay at a job for money, they stay because they feel ownership in the organization.” Lindsey would like to encourage the recipient to stay involved on campus and to study abroad. This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in psychology with a 3.0 GPA or above. Preference will be given to female students. The annual awards are $1,500 each. Madisen Hullander Breanna Pence Lee Smalley Memorial Scholarship Lee Smalley was a lifelong learner and a passionate educator. Lee retired from UW-Stout in 1992 after a 28-year tenure in the career and technical education program, originally known as industrial arts. He instilled in his students the importance of questioning and challenged them to be inspired and motivated learners. This scholarship is to help a graduate student seeking any education related degree. Lee would be honored to support teachers as they continue to improve not only their own education but also the education of their students.The annual awards are $1,000 each.
