2022 Scholarship Awards

Ray F. McNaughton Scholarship The McNaughton family established this scholarship in memory of their father, Raymond, who was a 1933 Stout graduate who encouraged the achievement of lifelong learning. This unrestricted scholarship is intended to assist serious and capable students achieve their goals for a quality university education. The annual award is $1,900. Genevieve Czaplewski McRae Memorial Scholarship With a diploma from Stout in 1918 and his B.S. degree in 1925, James McRae served as a school guidance counselor in the Minneapolis school system for many years. This scholarship fund was provided through a bequest and is awarded to students with a 3.0 or above GPA and financial need. The annual award is $2,000. Samantha Kruger Tom and Kaye Mehring Education Scholarship Tom Mehring is a 1963 B.S. and 1964 M.S. Industrial Education graduate of UW Stout. After graduation Tom taught Graphic Arts in several high schools in Southern California. He then transitioned into training with a variety of corporations in California, returning to Minnesota where he worked for Control Data and 3M for a combined 30 years. Tom and Kaye established this scholarship to honor and recognize the excellent education he received from UW-Stout which allowed him to excel in both his high school teaching and industrial training career. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior technology education major with a GPA of 2.5 or above. There are two annual awards of $2,500. Tyler Green Tyler Hanson Dee Rogers Mercer Endowed Scholarship Dee Rogers Mercer was a 1927 Stout graduate who believed the education she received provided her with an excellent start in life. She wished to provide financial assistance to current students so they will be prepared to enter the work world. This scholarship is awarded to students with majors in human development and family studies, early childhood, or family and consumer sciences education that haveinvolvement in professional and other organizations..
